[Admin Luke] Just got another reply from the Governor General’s office. He’s refusing to come out and discuss issues with Clinton and Aboriginal Elder’s at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy. Instead his office insists only on a 1-on-1 conversation, and only up at Government House.
I think it’s time for you all to give their office a phone call and politely ask the Governor General to come out and meet with Clinton and the Aboriginal Elders at the Aboriginal Tenty Embassy on September 6.
Here’s the number: (02) 6283 3533
Where is the respect for Sovereign First Nation people?? Clinton has walked 5500km, Elders are traveling from across the country and the Governor General refuses to come out and hear their stories and take their messages for the Queen??

I only going do that if only all the serious elder’s who a coming agree on it. If they say no I not going to do it. I listen to my elder and follow culture way and not lising to other people agenda to change my view on what I trying to do. I getting sick to death with people jumping the gun with non-think never happen yet. People need to pull up and think for a sec. I have organised a big meeting in Canberra with everyone when they arrive to talk about issues and what need to be done to start moving thing forward. The topic well be talk about treaty and what tip of treaty need to be done to make sure to save our culture, lore, land and most of all to getting think done so we can help our people an the future generations. There be other talk about issues but like how I said I not going to do anything without elder and everyone else agree on thing.
People trying to hijacked my walk to push for they agenda. I also going to speak out about this people trying to hijacked my walk. I have walk a long way from where I have started to now people should respect that. I be speaking out for justice for those who never got justice for love once, community that a living in 3rd world condition, community that been close down like my family community was close down and half of my family die living on the street and other issues we collected ever sin been on the journey. This walk was never easy it is a hard road to walk on but at less we know now I getting closer coming to the end of this amazing journey. People should respect what I have done and not go jumping the gun when you should know none thing have not been done yet. But remember who the person walk all that way Clinton walk for justice.

[Admin Toby] This time last year was the 50th Anniversary of the Wave Hill walk-off, which is commemorated every year by a festival at Kalkaringji and Daguragu. This video clip captures the parade on the path of the walk-off, concert and fireworks to a live edit of ‘From Little Things, Big Things Grow’.
On the 23rd of August Vincent Lingiari led the workers and families to walk off Wave Hill station and begin their seven-year strike. Initially, a strike against work and living conditions, it soon became a long campaign for the return of thier most sacred lands.
In 1967, Gurindji petitioned the Governor-General, claiming 1,295 km² of land near Wave Hill. Their claim was rejected. While Dagaragu would eventually become the first cattle station to be owned and managed by an Aboriginal community, today known as the Murramulla Gurindji Company, it took many years before the Gurindji achieved this.
In 1969 the Liberal-National CountryCoalition government was given a proposal to give eight square kilometres back to the Gurindji. Cabinet refused even to discuss the issue.
In support of the walk-off there were demonstrations and arrests in southern Australia and many church, student and trade union groups gave practical and fundraising support to the Gurindji struggle.
Vincent Lingiari, Billy Bunter Jampijinpa and others toured Australia, with the support of workers’ unions, to give talks, raise awareness, build support for their cause and have meetings with major lawyers and politicians. Frank Hardy recalled at a fundraising meeting, a donor gave $500 after hearing Vincent Lingiari speak. The donor – who said he had never before met an Aboriginal person – was a young Dr Fred Hollows the eye surgeon.
Hardy also records Pincher Manguari as saying:
“We want them Vestey mob all go away from here. Wave Hill Aboriginal people bin called Gurindji. We bin here long time before them Vestey mob. This is our country, all this bin Gurindji country. Wave Hill bin our country. We want this land; we strike for that.”
In 1975, the Labor government of Gough Whitlam negotiatiated with Vesteys to give the Gurindji back a portion of their land. This was a breakthrough in the land rights movement in Australia.
“I want this to acknowledge that we Australians have still much to do to redress the injustice and oppression that has for so long been the lot of Black Australians.”
The handback took place on 16 August 1975 with Whitlams speach and the famous gesture of pouring sand into Vincent’s Lingiari’s hand.

[Admin Toby] Transcription of David Suzuki at the National Day of Action, Campbeltown NSW. 30 October 2016.
“You see, the issue is not one of racism, its about a colonial mindset and the battles you are having here are the same battles we are having in North America and in South America and in Africa. A colonial mentality that is not interested in Mother Earth.
I am astounded at the fact that you – Indigenous people still exist on this Land after all thats been done to you and I thank you. I thank you because we depend on you now, we need your leadership and the way of seeing the world that you have.
You see we have been blanketed by a mindset that does not see Mother Earth but sees resources and opportunities and its become a very powerful force – I am not Indigenous but I am here to say I am with you – to battle, because I am against the same mindset.
Someone said earlier that you want justice; you can not expect justice from a system that is built on denying the biggest crime of them all, which was that people came here and took your land! How can you have justice from a system that was built on that great crime to begin with?
So what I say is ‘we are now in a battle around the world’. A battle against the mentality that no longer sees the Earth as sacred. That no longer sees the Earth as our Mother. The very source of our lives and our well being.
And this is not any longer something that only Indigenous people have, it is people like me, people around the world who are beggining to realise that to talk about sustainability means that the only people on the Planet that know about sustainability are the people who have lived in place for thousands of years. And through the mistakes and failures and successes of their Elders, understand deeply what it means to live on the Land – with the Land.
So I just want to say thankyou. Thankyou for hanging on despite the horrors of what you’ve lived through. Your hanging on to something and we non-Indigenous want to work and help you work – with you, because we’ve got to overthrow the mentality that is ultimitely destroying this Planet.”
Monday the 21st. Our walk into Mittagong. To be welcomed to Country. – Noonie
A good ending to the day at Mittagong. Good people an a great day this day. – Noonie
The injustice this government has done to all of us shall no longer do injustice any more, that justice shall come forward to break it down to bring out the truth of freedom an unite.
That we has the olderst living culture on earth an we has a mulculture country of people who has different religious beliefs what to bring more to this country an the world it self to lead it in a new way of path where it shall show the true future of what we all wanted.
That it well bring this country together in working on a better way of a future for our child to live together in harmony an that no one shall no longer be left behind living in homeless an living in poverty. That mother earth shall shine an bring back the beautiful of this life we see every day in this world.
It is time for what we want and we have waited for a long time for this an the time is now to get it.
Day 341: 8am
The constitution is not broken it just that you people in politics don’t want to follow the rule book because you choose to be greedy an what power to control us.
The construction is for the people to give them the power to have a say when it come to laws, votes and who they want to lead this country.
I seen the old constitution the 1901 it has change from a government for the people to a government for the rich. We shall no longer be rule by the rich an that the power shall come back to the people.

Day 320: 1.30pm
Australia needed a treaty with its Aboriginal population giving elders more control over their people, which would help address inequality and issues that the Indigenous people faced every day.
Many in the Aboriginal community had lost faith in the “Recognise” movement and just wanted a formal treaty in place, giving them the rights they needed to improve their lives and future of the race.
“It should have been done in 1788, 229 years ago and we are still waiting for it to happen,” he said. “The most thing I worry is see a lot of my people living homeless, watching the land being destroyed and my culture dying out.”
