[Admin Toby] The deal will see the Wik nations partner with Legion Wealths to export wood from tree lopping in Aurukun, exported to the Asian market.

This venture will include building a saw mill in Aurukun to provide local Employment for Aurukun people.

Currently the wood is chopped down and burnt for land clearing by Rio Tinto Mining. Aurukun people want to recycle it & export it to make furniture and other products.

The Asain Market is targeted for the recycled wood with the trade deal also including replanting of trees and rejuvenation of country by Legion Wealths.

Clinton’s Walk for Justice
By Lynda Nutter October 2016

Clinton’s Crossing
A Nyungah man is walking cross Australia
A Nyungah, Clinton Pryor is his name
This south-west man is walking now for justice
He’s travelling and calling for a change

He’s walking from Perth across to Canberra
He’s walking, to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too

You might think a Nyungah walking in the out- back
Could hardly make a scratch upon a wall
But first week he got a phone call to say sorry
That the “Sorry” said had made no change at all

And as leader spoke to leader on the cell phones
The sun rose higher in the sky
A Nyungah man is walking his country
Walking proud… .and asking why

A Nyungah man is walking Australia
He’s one of the willing and the few
They’re walking all the way to Canberra
Where politicians do…. what they do

He’s gathering the stories of his people
And listening to the stories of the land
Sending out a daily record on his face book
So people in the city understand

Exposing the failures in the system
Learning of the sorrow and the pain
The growing list of promises broken
The struggle, always struggle with no gain

A Nyungah man is crossing Australia
And calling for a right to the wrongs
For an end to injustice and the failure
To find a way that we can all belong

A Nyungah Man is walking this country
He’s walking to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too.

Sometimes days without a signal
Solid road becomes dirt track
But TV News and film crews
Are now crossing the out-back

To Leanora, Laverton,
And Warburton as well
And Clinton’s walk for Justice
Is the story that they tell

He’s walking in the heat of the desert
Through the centre and on past Uluru
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too

To be continued….

Day 41: Leaving Leonora

7am

Every day when I wake up. I listen to this. It my number one motivation video. Please have a listen.

I was created in the dark and born in to the light.

12pm

Now we know how far it is from Laverton to Warburton. 570km walk, 16 days without a signal, temperature get up to 50 degree and negative 7 degrees, with hot wind, fires and dangerous animals like number one deadly snake, number one deadly spiders, number one deadly scorpion, dingos hunt in pack and hard to find water out here. This part of the walk is going to be hard and all eyes with be watching this part. Let do this and make history.

Day 40: (Rest Day) Leonora

8am

We on our way back to Leonora town. To rest up and get back into the walk a gain. Tomorrow the walk will start from Leonora on to Laverton than to Warburton town.

9am

14713555_707501112733694_643005039562716425_nGood morning all firstly I just wanted to thanks Richard & Sandra Evens from Leonora town for doing a welcome to country and doing a BBQ when we first arrive in Leonora town and doing a dinner over they place where we meet the elders and talking with them about want being happen in Leonora town.

Also just wanted to thank Jill Ashwin for helping us and letting us stay at her place to rest up and get supply again for the walk we need for the desert road.

Now we are now on our way walking to Laverton town and mute be off Facebook for about 3 days guys. O.k but see how it go. I well be back on Facebook when I can.

11am

14671363_707576622726143_1019701656111211323_nI get closer and closer everyday to this spot that I screen shot from the computer couple month back. This spot is the last road before it changes to dirt road call the Central Desert Road from Laverton, Warburton and on to Uluru the heart land people. I get closer and closer to the hardest part of the walk and it well be hard because the temperature can get up to 50 degree’s and also negative 7 degrees. But also fire, hot wind and the ground get hot as well. Nature itself is the only thing against me on this center desert road.

Everyone on Facebook, the media, the Government, the nation and the world it self well be watching this part of the walk to see if I can do it or give up and go back to Perth. All eyes well be watching this part of the walk. If I make it or pass it. It well explode all over social media everyone well be talking about it.

I know in my heart I can do this and I well never give up or give in because I choose to believe in my self that I can do this part. The support and the love I get from family, my people, my Friends, the followers, the country and the world it self well give me the strength to push through this part of the walk and to get justice for my people and for this country.

But I think to my self what do people say about me or talk to other about me when I do this part. I know I well go down in the history book, come Australia icon and my people well tell story about me when I’m gone from this earth. But well it change this country to change it way. All I want is for my culture to live on for other 60,000 years or more and think to get better for my people.

But most of all to seen this country come together and seen a Aboriginal leader running this country. But also start working on building a better country and a better world for all life who live on it that share this world with us. But in the end I choose to believe and I well never stop until I see this dream happen when I’m alive.

14691033_708464252637380_8496113878264504708_nWe have done some much scene and acting with NITV. It was like we was making a movie and I feel that tired I just wanted to go to bed or go to the pub for a beer. But it good NITV are following us and filming the walk. I think they going to made a documentary or mite turn it in to a movie after the walk is finish. Also I just wanted to thank NITV for giving us a satellite phone to help us keep in connected with family and friend because now we a entering the hardest part of the walk that could lead to death or not. But we are ready and cannot wait to start the walk from Laverton on to Warburton.

6.30pm

14721759_708432549307217_8332449462098399695_nJust sitting down on the side of the road watching the sun set and thinking about a lot of issues that we hear from elders and community leader we pass. Those who like to meet us in Laverton we be there in two days from now.

Day 39: Windidda Station

7am

14717044_706806696136469_3584360427410263428_nI just wanted to thank uncle Victor Ashwin for showing us guys around for the last two day’s and explaining about the land, the law and what happen here in the past to your old people when the white man came here and start to destroy everything. Also I just wanted to thank you for taking us out to see community to find out want being happen in this country area. The story we hear, the pain they are going through and the anger they have at the government for not helping them. It should not be like this for the desert people. It get me that angry how the government promises our people think like they say and than don’t do nothing. The community and the station we went to are on the list to be closed, Kutkabueba community and Windidda station, from the forced closure of community.

This how the government work when a community or a station need help with thing. The government come out to see them and see want they can do and say yes we help we can do this or that to help you. But when they gone we wait and the government don’t do nothing to help our people because the government don’t care or have no respect for our cultures. All this government want from our people is our land to mine it and destroy it because the greed of needing money and land. But don’t care for the people who live and look after the land for 60,000 years.

Thank you uncle Victor Ashwin showing us around. Now we now know what the desert people need to help them for they community and at they station. We well not stop with this walk. Until our people in community or station start getting help from the government or this government can piss off out of this country. Now on our way back to Leonora today.

There was a small flock of bird’s hanging around waiting for up to go, I could not get a film of them drinking, a working dog would get to close and away they went. Victor Ashwin show us around Windidda, spoke on how hard they have keep up the work on Windidda, with little help from the government and not looking like getting much in the future. I wish Victor Ashwin and the members of this community and others community all the best of luck in this struggle for their homes on country.” – Noonie
