Clinton’s Walk for Justice

Clinton’s Crossing
A Nyungah man is walking cross Australia
A Nyungah, Clinton Pryor is his name
This south-west man is walking now for justice
He’s travelling and calling for a change

He’s walking from Perth across to Canberra
He’s walking, to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too

You might think a Nyungah walking in the out- back
Could hardly make a scratch upon a wall
But first week he got a phone call to say sorry
That the “Sorry” said had made no change at all

And as leader spoke to leader on the cell phones
The sun rose higher in the sky
A Nyungah man is walking his country
Walking proud… .and asking why

A Nyungah man is walking Australia
He’s one of the willing and the few
They’re walking all the way to Canberra
Where politicians do…. what they do

He’s gathering the stories of his people
And listening to the stories of the land
Sending out a daily record on his face book
So people in the city understand

Exposing the failures in the system
Learning of the sorrow and the pain
The growing list of promises broken
The struggle, always struggle with no gain

A Nyungah man is crossing Australia
And calling for a right to the wrongs
For an end to injustice and the failure
To find a way that we can all belong

A Nyungah Man is walking this country
He’s walking to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too.

Sometimes days without a signal
Solid road becomes dirt track
But TV News and film crews
Are now crossing the out-back

To Leanora, Laverton,
And Warburton as well
And Clinton’s walk for Justice
Is the story that they tell

He’s walking in the heat of the desert
Through the centre and on past Uluru
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too

Day 81: Leaving Warakurna

Warakurna community well be the last community we be visiting in western central desert area. It is because I’m bit behind time and need to get to uluru. I just wanted to thank the Ngaanyatjarra people from the western central desert for welcoming us in to your country area and helping us with think we need for our walk.

It been amazing walking thought your country and visiting community in your area. Thank you for inviting us to your school to see the kids to tell story about my walk and letting us set down with the elders to listing to they story about the old way. The think have notes in Ngaanyatjarra is that your culture out this way is very story and the language is very story. I have learn some much and what to stay put I must keep going because other a waiting for me.

Also I just wanted to thank Ngaanyatjarra people for donating and support my walk for justice. Change is coming soon and I know i well see you all again over in Canberra to help me finish the walk and supporting me when I speak on the behalf for our people to this government. I well Cherie every thing that I see, learn and all the gift your people giving us.

It time we get justice for our people and make a change. We be walking together in Parliament house in Canberra when I get closer with all our people round australia. It just matter of time. Change is coming and it coming soon. Thank you Ngaanyatjarra people I well see you all when you meet me over in Canberra

Days 65 – 67: (Rest) Warburton

Day 65: 8.30am

Why we need to look after the land, song line, secret site, wild life and must of all keep our culture a live the dream time. A new dawn has come for change and with it a hero has come forward in time of hardness.

The Warburton people came up with a new way of doing art painting of the dream time. They do the dream time painting in to glass. Warburton is the only community that do this and I think it a good idea how they do they art this need to be share.

Is that I get to set down with elders and community leader and listen to they story, community issue and what they want for they people in they community. I love doing this walk and I well never forget it after it finish. I well make sure I well tell everyone about this walk I have done for my people.


Day 66: 8.30am

Good morning all just letting you know I be doing acknowledged and support for people who need my help and support. So today I be putting up picture for people to tell my family, friend’s and follower to show they support for them and help to push for change. It is about coming and working together to build a better future for all o.k

Also I be busy all day talking with the elders and locals having a meeting with them about issue they need to done in Warburton. I hope you all have a good day today


Day 66: 9.30am

john-clinton-great-central-road-e1477630334609-768x1146Hi everyone, meet John. I met him 13 days ago on the road from Laverton to Cosmo community. John has been walking for the last 7 months raising money leukodystrophy. A disease that affects the brain and spinal cord etc. He’s on his way to Perth. He left from cape York QLD.

I take my hat off to him. Walking for 7 months already and says he will be in Perth after Christmas. So if by chance you do drive past him give him a wave, stop to say hello or even give him a bottle of water, food or some spare change to help him with raising money for this cause.

He walk across Australia 3 time and this is his last walk across Australia. He about 65 year old and we call him the Forrest gum of Australia. When I met him on the central desert road he told me that I was the first walker i meet on his journey and the youngest one as well. I ask him why are you raising money for leukodystrophy diseases.

He said that his wife had it and she pass away from having it. So he doing it for her and try help and save other who got it. So please if you see him help him please give him so think to help want he need to finish his walk to Perth and money to help him raise for leukodystrophy. John old boy god bless you and I hope to meet you again when you back at home in Geelong mate.

15027827_1890377764518744_6080067555449104445_nHere waiting to be call in to have a meeting with Ngaanyatjarra council group in the western desert to see if I can get the full support of the 13 community out here in the western desert for the walk for justice. I hope I can get full support from the grass root people in the western desert I well need they help on this walk.

Also I’m here with Patrick Green and Winston Green on the right of the picture who are here to represent Tjukurla community for they issue to speak at Ngaanyatijara council.


Day 66: 6pm

15055837_1890453044511216_3114521101509968488_nIt been a long day of having a meeting with Ngaanyatjarra council to see if they want to support and back my walk for justice for the grass root people of the 13 community out in the western desert. The best think was is that they going to support and back my walk for justice. I’m so happy to hear and know that I got the backing and support from 13 community out in the western desert. Also to stand with me to fight for justice for all our indigenous people in Australia and for all none indigenous in Australia. It time for justice and it time for change.

The emu dreaming painting. His one of the most top painted people out here in the western desert. I seen all his painting and i can say he can paint people. Thank you uncle Andrew James Harris. The Warburton people can do amazing and beautiful painting out here just beautiful.
