[Admin Toby] The Larrakia petition followed an earlier 6-point petition from the Larrakia people and their supporters in March 1972, calling for the McMahon government to establish a commission to negotiate treaties with Indigenous language groups. This appeal was described by Judith Wright as, ‘the first move in the direction of the demand for treaties’.

The wording of the petition were in response to the reply from Prime Minister McMahon in June, 1972, rejecting the call for treaties with Aboriginal people, and stating that it was not appropriate to negotiate with British subjects as though they were foreign powers.

According to the National Archives of Australia, in their publication Memory of a Nation ‘The petition was forwarded to the Queen’s representative in Australia, the Governor-General [Sir Paul Hasluck], and was deposited in the National Archives in 1975.’ The complete document is available on-line on the National Archives website (NAA 1973c).

14908225_1884606045095916_3232392658533933231_n-1When we was at Wiluna. This two statue is to honor the last of the nomad’s. The two old people who was find out in the Gibson Desert name where Warri and Yatungka. Warri and Yatungka were believed to be the last of the Mandildjara tribe of the desert nomads to live permanently in the traditional way. Their deaths in the late 1970s marked the end of a tribal lifestyle that stretched back more than 30,000 years.

I think about this two amazing people that they name well live on through out the century to come and that our people well know that this two were the last two people in our culture way. Who live the old way before our people change in to this modern world we live now. I still reading the book and I up to page 52 now and it starting to make me understand more about this two and how they live they life before passing on.

14906841_1674252162885197_8750057346895803166_nClinton’s Crossing

A Nyungah man is walking cross Australia
A Nyungah, Clinton Pryor is his name
This south-west man is walking now for justice
He’s travelling and calling for a change
He’s walking from Perth across to Canberra
He’s walking, to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too
You might think a Nyungah walking in the out- back
Would hardly make a scratch upon a wall
But first week he got a call to say sorry
That the “Sorry” said had made no change at all
And as leader spoke to leader on the cell phones
The sun rose higher in the sky

A Nyungah man is walking his country
Walking proud… .and asking why
A Nyungah man is walking Australia
He’s one of the willing and the few
They’re walking all the way to Canberra
Where politicians do…. what they do
He’s gathering the stories of his people
And listening to the stories of the land
Sending out a daily record on his face book
So people in the city understand
Exposing the failures in the system
Learning of the sorrow and the pain
The growing list of promises broken
The struggle, always struggle with no gain
A Nyungah man is crossing Australia
And calling for a right to the wrongs
For an end to injustice and the failure
To find a way that we can all belong

A Nyungah Man is walking this country
He’s walking to get a message through
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too.
Sometimes days without a signal
Solid road becomes dirt track
But TV News and film crews
Are now crossing the out-back
To Leanora, Laverton,
And Warburton as well
And Clinton’’s walk for Justice
Is the story that they tell
He’s walking in the heat of the desert
Through the centre and on past Uluru
You might not know it ….
You might not know him…
But he’s walking Australia for you too

Day 58: 12.30pm

[Admin Jake] One of Clinton’s friends and supporters had been discussing a pair of painted up steel capped boots for Clinton.

About two to three weeks ago, Marcia sent her finished artwork off from Queensland to her partner Wazza in Perth. Wazza and his Dad then drove the boots out to Clinton over the space of a couple of days, past Kalgoorlie and handed them over to Clinton. Below are a few beautiful pics that only just touch on the story.

The boots also accompanied a letter from Ngallagunda remote community which Clinton is reading in one if the photos, which they wish for Clinton to present to Mr Turnbull in Canberra.

Thank you to Marcia, Wazza and Wazza’s Dad and the Ngallagunda remote conmunity and everyone else that contributes to Clinton’s journey.

Much love! You are all fantastic!

They have tried to silence us through threats and intimidation but the world needs to know what is happening on these cattle stations and how morally bankrupt people are actively and persistently working to take over our aboriginal run stations. If there is someone reading this who has any kind of legal or social background that can lend advise or time the mob at Ngallagunda will welcome conversation with you. Pm me and I can put you in touch with them. Thank you for all the kind words also. And Clinton, you’re a legend – you will go down in history.” – Marcia
